F2 Logistics dominates RC Cola-Army to end elims at third

All-Filipino Conference champions F2 Logistics Cargo movers built valuable momentum heading into the playoffs, dispatching the RC Cola-Army Lady Troopers, 25-13, 25-21 25-11, to cap their 2016 PSL Grand Prix elimination round campaign at the General Trias Sports Centrum.

“Sa lahat ng aspects, maganda ang nilaro ng mga bata kanina kaya na-impress ako,” said F2 Logistics head coach Ramil de Jesus.

The Cargo Movers turned up the heat in the already humid arena through their excellent services. F2 Logistics torched Army with 17 service aces. Unable to pass the entire match, the Lady Troopers had no shot at the lead, falling hard and quickly.

F2 Logistics reinforcement Hayley Spelman towed in 17 points off 14 attacks and three aces. Sydney Kemper chipped in 10 points off six kills and four aces.

The F2 Logistics next play on Saturday. They will either face the Generika Lifesavers (1-9) or the Cignal HD Spikers (1-8), the latter still scheduled to face the RC Cola-Army Lady Troopers on Thursday. The winner on Saturday moves on to the semifinals.

“Hindi ka puwedeng maging masyadong complacent sa Saturday kasi isang talo lang, laglag ka na,” De Jesus warned. “Ang goal pa rin namin is maka-Finals and kailangan lang naman namin isa-isahin yung mga susunod naming laban.”

Jovelyn Gonzaga led Army with six points while Kierra Holst and Rachel Daquis added four markers apiece.

The Scores:

F2 Logistics (3) – Spelman 18, Kemper 8, Reyes 6, Fajardo 5, Marano 4, Baron 3, Dy 1, Cheng 0, Cruz 0, Macandili (L).
