De Ocampo on 1-2 deficit: ‘Andito pa kami, lalaban pa kami’

Ranidel de Ocampo was left to rue TNT Katropa’s horrid perimeter defense after absorbing a sorry 119-113 loss to the Meralco Bolts in Game Three of the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Saturday evening.

Indeed, Meralco made it rain from the rainbow country as the Bolts shot a franchise-high 17 three-pointers, six more than their previous season-high of 11. In fact, back-to-back three-pointers by Reynel Hugnatan during the homestretch set the tables for the Meralco win.

With their backs against the wall, De Ocampo knows where TNT will start as they make their bounce back attempt.

“Kailangan lang namin ma-limit three-points nila kasi nasa 60 percent three points nila so kailangan pa pagbutinhan depensa namin,” said the 34-year-old cager, who finished with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.

The team may be on the brink of elimination, but don’t count them out just yet said De Ocampo.

The TNT veteran added they’ve been here before, and they now too well how to claw back from such a hole.

“Tingin ko, huwag muna isipin ng iba na wala na kami. Nanndito pa kami, lalaban pa kami.

“Naranasan na namin yung ganitong situwasyon,” he said.
