Aaron Black to miss two weeks due to foot injury

The Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles will be without Aaron Black for the next two weeks.

Black, 19, only played two minutes during Ateneo’s win over the FEU Tamaraws last Wednesday after an awkward landing with 7:57 remaining in the first quarter.

“Right now, it’s my foot. That’s all I know,” Black said after the game. “Something is wrong with my foot and I don’t know what it is yet.”

Ateneo team manager Epok Quimpo confirmed Saturday morning that the second-generation basketball player is set to miss two weeks because of the injury on his left foot.

“He will probably miss at least two weeks,” Quimpo said. “After two weeks he will be re-assessed. Hopefully he returns by then.”

Moreover, the injury was a recurring one according to Quimpo as the injury came from the off-season, during one of Ateneo’s scrimmages a few months back.

“He is currently on a walking boot right now,” he added.

Black is averaging 9.7 points per game on an efficient 48.1 percent shooting clip. He was the team’s leading scorer during its opening day win over the UST Growling Tigers, dropping 23 markers in the game.
