CJ Rosario keen on mirroring brother’s success

Just like her brother Troy Rosario, CJ Rosario is keen on making the most out of any given opportunity.

Troy was the second overall pick in the 2016 PBA Draft and has since grab every opportunity that was presented to him for as he is part of both Tropang TNT and the Gilas Cadets pool.

Now, it’s his sister’s turn to make waves as the former middle blocker from Arellano University is expected to be one of the top picks in the upcoming Philippine Superliga Draft.

“Kung magkatotoo nga iyon, pressure nga talaga pero hindi ko naman ineexpect iyon,” CJ Rosario said when asked about being pegged as one of this year’s top draft picks. “If ever nga na magkaroon ng ganoon, siguro bahala na basta kung ano ang mabibigay ko, ang maipapakita ko, ibigay ko na lang lahat.”

“Unti-unti ko namang inaadjust ‘yung sarili ko, pinaghahandaan ko talaga ‘yung draft.”

Rosario also shared that she and Troy are often compared in terms of their respective athletic careers. With the latter seeing success in his young basketball career, CJ believes that she can also make her mark in her upcoming volleyball career.

“Kung hindi mag-perform ng maayos [ang isa sa amin], lagi kaming [compared] lalo na kapag umuuwi kami ng probinsiya,” she added.

Moreover, Rosario revealed that her brother’s promising basketball career pushed her to continue playing volleyball post-college in the PSL. Originally, she said that she aimed to pursue a career as a flight attendant.

“Sobrang swerte ko kasi napabilang ako dito. Ineexpect ko nga hindi na ako maglalaro [after college], kasi last time nag-doubt ako kung itutuloy ko pa mag-volleyball,” she ended.
