The University of the East Lady Warriors shocked the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles in two sets, 21-18 and 21-19, dashing the Lady Eagles chances of semi-final contention, while grabbing their first win.
The duo of Cais and Cuevas took advantage of a clumsy showing by Ateneo’s Morente and Maraguinot, bagging point after point after with Ateneo’s errors and outside spikes to escape with the narrow set victory. The Lady Eagles came close to forcing a third set, but found no way dismantle a rally by the Lady Warriors, who would escape with the second set and their first win.

The National University Lady Bulldogs kept their hopes for a final four berth alive after routing the struggling Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles in two sets, 21-15, and 21-15.
NU’s Santiago and General dominated both sets, owning the pace and forcing Ateneo spikers Maraguinot and Morante to constant errors to win point after point. The Ateneans would be able to find their touch every now and then, getting their spikes to penetrate the blockade set up by NU’s towering spikers. However, unable to mount enough firepower, the Lady Eagles would be unable to bounce back in the second set, giving NU the victory.
