Off the back of solid 2014-15 season, Barako Bull wingman JC Intal is even more inspired to keep going in the PBA after becoming a father a week ago.
Bianca Gonzalez-Intal gave birth to Lucia last week, and their baby girl has since given Intal “added motivation.”
“Nagbibiruan kami ng wife ko. Sabi ko, talo kami (sa NLEX) pero pag-uwi ko, panalo,” Intal said after the Energy defeated Ginebra, 82-79 Saturday. Intal poured 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in the win.
“Sobrang saya magka-baby. Noon ko pa pangarap na mag-start ng family. Added motivation siya and extra energy. Kahit matalo kami, masaya pa rin pag-uwi.”
Intal’s PBA comrades often bring their families to watch games live from the sidelines, and he is looking forward to doing the same, using the image as his motivation.
“Every year you have to improve your game. I try to stay healthy as much as possible. For two straight years ata yun ang naging problema ko. On and off ako because of minor injuries. I am trying to stay healthy and improve my game,” Intal said.
The veteran added his Gilas Pilipinas exposure helped him, and he wishes to improve his game even more.
“Malaking confidence-booster sa akin yun. I am sure nag-improve ako kahit papano pero hopefully, magtuloy-tuloy.”
