After gaining success during the Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference and the PSL Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup, the league will now look to end its annual season with a bang as it is set to open the import-laden 2015 PSL Grand Prix this coming October 10 at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
“The world’s prettiest and strongest imports will be coming for the Grand Prix,” PSL President Ramon “Tats” Suzara said via the league’s official website. “Their presence will surely boost the morale of our locals and increase the level of competition to make it better, more exciting than ever.”
For this year, the league’s competitive atmosphere will surely shift to a higher gear as the Petron Blaze Spikers, last year’s defending champion, is set to take on reloaded squads like the returning RC Cola Air Force Raiders and Philippine Army Lady Troopers (entry still not formalized due to absence of a sponsoring company), Philips Gold Lady Slammers, Foton Tornadoes, and the Cignal HD Spikers. In addition, the Meralco Power Spikers and Team Cebu will also make their respective debuts in the upcoming Grand Prix.
“This is getting more intense, more competitive. All major companies want to be represented and they are will do whatever they can to build the strongest team possible,” Suzara added. “So far, we already have six. But two, or possibly three, more equally strong teams are coming to spice up the tournament.”
