Losing a crucial game against NU on Wednesday, Coach Sherwin Meneses of the Adamson Lady Falcons expressed his thoughts with the team’s fate towards the tail-end of the elimination stint.
The four-set defeat was tough for the Lady Falcons as it hurt their chances of securing a Final Four seat. Meneses shared, “Siyempre masakit yung pagkatalo namin lalo na yung mga crucial points hinanap namin sa mga players.”
Refreshing the loss, the Lady Falcons succumbed their 3rd set as they lost grip with the 24-21 point lead they had. Coach Sherwin expressed his disappointment towards the team’s veterans late in the period.
“Katulad naman ng sinasabi ko nung time na yun, kailangan namin ng leader, so kung yung leader hindi nagproduce ng points mas mahirap makapuntos,” he stated.
Looking forward, now that FEU defeated UP after their match, the Falcons’ Final Four hopes boil down to their game against the Lady Maroons on Saturday as both teams are knotted at 5-8.
Sharing his precise game plan, Coach Meneses said, “Ganun pa rin pero sana yung mga seniors ko, sa mga may last playing years magcontribute ng maganda para maextend pa season namin ng seniors.”
Meneses also admitted their problems on defending taller squads as seen in their games against NU and DLSU. He briefly compared the past and present Adamson squad saying, “Iba na ang era ng Adamson ngayon kesa dati. Dati kahit malaki, yung depensa namin nakakacounter sa malaki. Ngayon kasi hindi masyadong organized yung depensa namin.”
