Kiefer Ravena tops three tests in Draft Combine

The two-year wait for Kiefer Ravena is certainly starting to look worth it for the PBA.

Ravena, 23, pushed himself into contention as the top pick in the upcoming 2017 PBA Draft, as he finished on top of the table in three of the five performance tests in the Rookie Combine, Monday morning.

The two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player from Ateneo de Manila University logged in the best records in the lane agility, maximum vertical leap, and 3/4 court sprint.

During the lane agility test, the second-generation cager clocked in at 10.72 seconds. Zach Nicholls of Arellano University came in second with a time of 11.56 seconds. Jett Manuel of University of the Philippines, Gian Abrigo of Adamson University, and Fil-Am Robbie Herndon completed the top five.

In the vertical leap, Ravena showed off his hops with a class-high 39.5 inches. Julian Sargent of La Salle came in at second at 39 inches, followed by Manuel (38.5 inches), Lervin Flores of Arellano (38 inches), and EAC’s Sidney Onwubere and UE’s Biboy Enguio (38.5 inches).

Besides showing his leaping ability, Ravena also clocked in the best in the sprint test, logging in a time of 2.78 seconds in the 3/4 court sprint. Nicholls came in second with a time of 2.81 seconds. Perpetual Help’s Gab Dagangon (2.82), and FEU’s Monbert Arong and Lyceum’s Jebb Bulawan (2.88 seconds) completed the top five.

Sargent and Nicholls impressed in the medicine ball throw and shuttle run respectively. The former threw a 9.4 meters during the throw challenge, while Nicholls clocked in at 51.3 seconds in the back and forth run.
