One of the country’s most decorated players has added two more trophies to her already daunting list of achievements
Alyssa Valdez earned her fourth Premier Volleyball League Most Valuable Player award, having been deemed the best player of the 2017 Reinforced Conference.
The Batangueña led Creamline to a third place finish after a ruckus start. Her fourth MVP plum means she has the most in league history.
But even with the accolades, Valdez continues to stay hungry.
“Pag ganito, lalo mo kailangan ipush ang sarili mo at hindi magstop to improve yourself,” she reflected.
“Yung awards, it’s a reminder na you can’t stop sa mga ginagawa mo, but pursue and still try to push yourself to the limit.”
Valdez also took home the 1st Best Open Hitter trophy. All these accomplishments Valdez has achieved at the tender age of 24.
Bali Pure’s Grethcel Soltones and Risa Sato were deemed Second Best Open Hitter and First Best Middle Blocker, respectively. Their playmaker, Jasmine Nabor, bagged her second PVL Best Setter award.
Power Smashers’ Dimdim Pacres took home the Best Opposite Hitter, while Pocari Sweat’s Melissa Gohing and Jeanette Panaga were named the Best Libero and Second Best Middle Blocker, respectively.
