ONIC PH unveils Joy as M6 championship hero skin

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

ONIC Philippines officially announced Joy as their championship hero skin on Friday, celebrating their dominant performance at the M6 World Championship.

The team selected Joy to honor Cyric “K1ngkong” Perez’s remarkable contributions during the tournament. Known for his fearless plays, lightning-fast reflexes, and clutch performances, K1ngkong’s mastery of the hero inspired the concept behind the upcoming skin, set to be revealed later this year.

Under K1ngkong’s control, Joy achieved an impressive 87.5% win rate, securing seven victories and suffering only one loss which came during Game 3 of the upper-bracket semifinals against Falcon Esports, where ONIC triumphed 3-2.

“Joy herself almost represents ONIC Philippines with her skills and color. She is one of K1ngkong’s signature heroes, and I still remember how the crowd went crazy whenever ONIC Philippines picked Joy,” shared Paul Denver “Coach Yeb” Lintag Miranda, ONIC Esports Vice President for Esports Franchise.

Coach Yeb added that Joy embodies happiness and excitement—qualities the team hopes to share with their fans through the skin. “Her story reflects our own journey: a relentless pursuit of greatness filled with challenges and determination. After years of growth and progress, we’ve finally reached the pinnacle of success together,” he said.

In a parallel announcement, MOONTON Games revealed that Grant “Kelra” Pillas, the Finals MVP of the M6 World Championship, will co-design a skin for his chosen hero, Beatrix.

As the “Gold Standard,” Kelra made history by becoming the first player to win Finals MVP in three major Mobile Legends tournaments: the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL), Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup (MSC), and the M Series.

“I feel happy and honored to co-design Beatrix. The FMVP skin I’ll work on will signify my legacy in MLBB Esports. I chose her because, as a gold laner, I embody some of her attributes, like adaptability and precision in eliminating enemies,” Kelra shared.

MOONTON Games and ONIC Philippines are currently collaborating on the design details for these in-game commemorative skins, with their launch anticipated in September 2025.
