VCT APAC: DubsteP shows never say die spirit as Team Secret stuns Xerxia

Team Secret completed the reverse sweep against XERXIA Esports, 2-1, on the opening day of the playoffs in the Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific Stage 2: Challengers Playoff, Thursday evening.

The Philippines champions, Team Secret took the deciding Game Three at Ascent in a come-from-behind 13-9 fashion.

XERXIA got the upper hand in the first half, gaining a slight edge 7-5, executing their offense to perfection.

In the second half, the Thais got the pistol round as well as the following round to extend their lead to four, 9-5.

But it was in the 15th round when Team Secret decided that they had enough.

The former Valorant Champions Tour Asia representatives sparked an absurd 7-0 run.

Come 22nd frame, when XERXIA saw a bright light having a three-versus-five advantage.

Unfortunately for them, that is all the man that Team Secret needed as they clutched the round completing the Thailand shutdown.

Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan (Chamber) came through for the Filipinos, finishing the decider with 23 kills and a 278 Average Combat Score.

Nutchapon “sScary” Matarat’s (Astra) had 17 markers and nine assists for XERXIA.

First, two games of the series were unusual after XERXIA took Team Secret’s map pick in Game One at Haven, starting the game 11-1, before taking the 13-6 win.

Game Two was payback for TS as they snatched XIA’s map pick (Breeze). This time it was Secret who started strong with 10-2 at the half, and eventually took the dub, 13-4.

Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera’s Chamber and DubsteP, this time as Jett both finished with 21 markers.
