Action in the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM has not been for the faint of heart.
The games have been intense, physical, and tough over the two legs and preseason in the FIBA 3×3-endorsed tournament.
As the country’s no. 2-ranked 3×3 player Alvin Pasaol put it, “Ganiyan naman talaga ang 3×3, pisikalan. Pagdating naman sa labas, magkakaibigan, magbabarkada pa rin.”
The league has gained a fan in Gold’s Gym Chief Executive Officer Mylene Dayrit.
After every game of every leg, the amiable executive has decided to back the league. The UFC Gym will reward the “Toughest Team of the Conference” with a one-year membership in the state-of-the-art gym.
“I saw the physicality of the games and we think that there are future MMA fighters in this league,” she quipped.
“Kidding aside, 3×3 basketball is like the MMA of basketball. We want to help in training them after they get out of the ‘Calambubble’ and teach them the discipline of martial arts.”
The criteria for being the “Toughest Team of the Conference” is how a squad performs and shows calm amid the physicality.
It will be awarded during the Grand Finals on Saturday, October 30.
