On Monday, the PBA announced that it has moved the 2020 Philippine Cup clash between TNT Tropang GIGA and NorthPort Batang Pier.
The league decided to postpone the game to a later date as a precautionary measure, since the Tropang Giga played with Blackwater last Thursday.
The Elite had a player test positive for COVID-19, although his antigen and RT-PCR re-tests on Sunday returned with negative results.
TNT has also yielded negative results. Still, the league isn’t taking any chances.
Monday’s match is the second game the league has called off this season. The first was the Blackwater-Rain or Shine clash on Sunday.
With this, there will be slight changes in the games’ schedule, according to PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro.
This development has delayed TNT’s bid of extending its unbeaten run to six, as well as an early entry into the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the game between Phoenix Super LPG and NLEX will push through, according to the league.
That means that Calvin Abueva’s much-anticipated return to play after a 16-month suspension will still happen.
The Fuel Masters-Road Warriors tiff was originally scheduled at 4:00 p.m. It has been moved to 6:45 following the postponement of TNT-NorthPort
