Though heartbroken, Zico confident Burn X Flash can survive M4 group stage

Filipino head coach John “Zico” Dizon was left heartbroken after being ruled out of Burn X Flash’s group stage campaign in the M4 World Championships due to COVID-19, Sunday.

The former Nexplay EVOS head coach, after testing negative twice since arriving in Jakarta, Indonesia, yielded a positive result yesterday which will force him to coach the team remotely during its upcoming matches.

He will also be quarantined inside his room for five days before undergoing another round of test for clearance.

Zico was definitely upset about not being able to be with his team physically in their upcoming group stage run where they are set to take on Pinoy powerhouse Blacklist International, Myanmar’s Falcon Esports, and Turkey’s Incendio Supremacy.

“Malungkot kasi sobrang halaga ng group stage para sa M4 run namin knowing na biggest names in this entire tournament pa yung nasa bracket,” said the 22-year-old former player told Tiebreaker Times.

Burn X Flash must win at least two games to secure their spot in the upper bracket and Zico is confident that his team, led by Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara, can get the job done despite the circumstances.

“Pero tiwala pa rin ako sa buong team since pinaghandaan talaga namin ng mabuti ‘to,” he added.

Burn X Flash takes on Falcon Esports later today at 7:00 PM before going up against Incendio Supremacy (4:00 PM) and Blacklist International (6:00 PM) tomorrow, Monday at the Bali United Studio in Jakarta.
