Skem parts ways with Neon Esports

OB Neon Esports announced the departure of team captain Gabriel “Skem” Ong, Saturday.

“Today we announce the departure of Rolen Andrei Gabriel ‘ctm’ Ong,” opened OB Neon’s statement.

Skem led OB Neon to its first Dota Pro Circuit Major appearance — the ONE Esports Singapore Major. There, the team made magic, taking down Dota 2 powerhouses left and right before ending its stint with a respectable 5th-6th place finish.

OB Neon, however, failed to replicate the same success in the second Southeast Asia DPC season. The team dropped to a fifth place finish, missing the WePlay AniMajor which ultimately cost them their The International ticket.

The squad then bowed out of the SEA Regional qualifiers — ending their DPC season.

“SkemDota has been with us a long time and has played an integral role in our rise to becoming one of the strongest teams in Southeast Asia,” the statement continued.

“We wish Andrei all the best in the future. GLHF.”
