The Lady Warriors’ reinforcement has arrived
Defending Philippine V-League Reinforced Champions Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors have tapped Bosnian middle blocker Edina Selimovic as their first import for the upcoming import-laden tournament.
Though the team already boasts a deep roster, the 6-foot-3 Selimovic will serve as the team’s primary frontline attacker. She arrived in Manila on Monday morning and was met by team manager Atty. Eric Ty and new addition Fille Cainglet-Cayetano.
“She will be a big addition to our team as we try to shoot for a third championship in the PVL,” Ty said.
The team’s core still remains as Melissa Gohing, Myla Pablo, Elaine Kasilag, Desiree Dadang, and Gizelle Sy, while key acquisitions Jeanette Panaga and Jessey de Leon are ready when needed.
The team’s second import has yet to be named but according to the team’s manager, she will be an American opposite.
“She’s an American outside spiker and like Edina, she will be an important piece of the championship puzzle for us,” Ty added.
Five other teams will try to dethrone the Lady Warriors, including the Alyssa Valdez-led Creamline Cool Smashers and the Philippine Air Force.
