Philippines rises to top of group with rout of Turkmenistan in AFC Futsal Qualis

Katrina Guillou and Dionesa Tolentin teamed up to lead the Philippine Women’s National Futsal Team to a 2-0 victory over Turkmenistan in their third match of the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup qualification campaign on Wednesday at the Yunusobod Sport Complex in Uzbekistan.

Guillou is now among the top goalscorers in the competition with four goals. She broke the deadlock for the Filipinas at the 22:18 mark.

She started and finished an attacking sequence off Judy Connolly’s assist to give the Philippines the lead.

Tolentin then sealed the win at the 29:56 mark, intercepting a loose ball and firing a powerful shot past the Turkmenistan goalkeeper.

This goal also marked the three-time UAAP champion’s second goal in the competition.

With this victory, Rafa Merino’s side now has seven points, moving to the top of Group C with a +5 goal difference.

After a rest day on Friday, the Philippines will face Australia on Sunday to conclude their campaign.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan, in fourth place, will look to earn their first points against Kuwait on Friday before finishing their campaign against Uzbekistan on Sunday.
