Compton admits trying to get Jeffers in the past
Alaska head coach Alex Compton opened up about how he, back when he was an assistant coach for other teams, always sought for the services of now Barangay Ginebra import Othyus Jeffers. Compton had high praise for Jeffers’ toughness in the match-up even though the Aces limited Jeffers to a woeful 7-for-25 from the field.
“I think I’ve told you, since 2010 I’ve been trying to get Jeffers since he is a great player and is unbelievably tough. My respect for him is off the roof. For us to defend him well, it is a sigh of relief,” he said.
Alaska moved to 4-1 overall, winning its last four matches.
