PBA Draft: Santi Santillan taken by Rain or Shine as fifth pick

Bruising big man Santi Santillan was taken as the fourth overall pick in the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft by Rain or Shine, Sunday afternoon.

Elasto Painters’ governor Mamerto Mondragon, head coach Chris Gavina, and guard Rey Nambatac were on hand during the selection.

Santillan, 25, is a 6-foot-5 forward who hails from Lapu-Lapu City.

For the first two years of his collegiate career, Santillan was in University of Visayas. He later transferred to De La Salle University.

After graduating from La Salle, Santillan joined Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3, playing for Balanga and, later on, Zamboanga City.

He also played for Bataan and Zamboanga-Family’s Brand Sardines in the MPBL.

Santillan is currently the no. 6 ranked 3×3 player in the country.
