Team Falcons PH secured its first victory of the season with a commanding 2-0 sweep over Smart Omega in the MPL Philippines Season 15 on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
With the win, the Falcons evened their record at 1-1, joining ONIC Philippines and TNC Pro Team in the standings.
“Tingin ko sa series, naka-early lang kami ‘tas na-maximize namin yung mga errors nila. Kaya sobrang nahirapan sila sa amin,” said Team Falcons PH head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez in the post-match interview.
The newly minted MPL PH squad set the tone early in Game 1, racking up four kills within the first three minutes. As the match progressed, the Falcons maintained control, capitalizing on their momentum behind KyleTzy’s stellar performance on Suyou.
KyleTzy delivered an outstanding stat line, finishing with nine kills, zero deaths, and 15 assists to earn MVP honors in the opener.
Game 2 followed a similar pattern, with Team Falcons once again dictating the pace from the start. Their aggressive map control limited Smart Omega to just a single kill in the 13-minute, 42-second match.
FlapTzy’s impeccable zoning on Hilda proved crucial, earning him the match MVP title with a flawless record of one kill, zero deaths, and five assists.
Meanwhile, Smart Omega fell to 0-1, joining AP.Bren and Twisted Minds at the bottom of the standings.
Team Falcons will aim to carry their momentum into their next match against defending champions ONIC PH on March 7 at 5:00 p.m. Smart Omega, on the other hand, will look to bounce back and secure their first win against TNC Pro Team on March 8 at 2:20 p.m. Both matches will take place at the same Makati venue.
