Northport added another big man in Troy Rike, as the 6-foot-8 heady forward was the 11th overall pick in the 2021 PBA Draft, Sunday afternoon.
Rike received a welcome to the Batang Pier from NorthPort governor Eric Arejola, head coach Pido Jarencio, and Season 44 Defensive Player of the Year Sean Anthony.
Rike is one of the most cerebral players in the class.
The California-born forward spent the first four years of his collegiate career in Division I school Wake Forest. He played 23 games there.
Rike then went to National University in UAAP Season 81 for a one-and-done season.
In 2019, Rike went full-time with Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3, growing to be one of the elite players in the sport.
Rike ended up being a three-time league champion, the all-time leader in earnings, and the fifth-best 3×3 player in the country.
