Nexplay EVOS officially parted ways with long-time player John Paul “H2wo” Salonga on Tuesday afternoon.
H2wo, who was part of the original Nexplay squad that earned an MPL slot through the Season Six qualifiers, spent the last five seasons with the franchise.
A photo of the professional player-social media star wearing an RSG PH jersey has been making rounds on social media. RSG PH has yet to announce their roster for the MPL Philippines Season 11.
“We have brought stories over the past five seasons that created a tremendous buzz within the community. We watched you develop from a quiet guy who backs down away from the camera to one of MLBB’s most well-known Esports players in the country,” said Nexplay EVOS in a statement.
“We appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you at Nexplay and without you, Nexplay won’t be the same. Keep in mind that your NXP family will support you no matter what. We wish you luck, H2wo,” the statement continued.
The 20-year-old jungler played a pivotal role in helping Nexplay EVOS achieve a fourth place finish in the Season Eight – their highest since joining the league.
However, H2wo saw limited opportunities in the succeeding seasons due to the arrival of Michael “MP the King” Endino in Season Nine and Ken “Kzen” Pile in Season 10.
The MPL Philippines will begin on February 17.
