With the NCAA Season 91 Women’s Beach Volleyball going full swing in its fourth day of action at Boardwalk Beach in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the Jeziela and Nieza Viray sisters of the San Beda Lady Red Spikers successfully completed a 9-0 elimination round sweep to automatically advance to the championship round.
In their lone match of the day, the Viray twins successfully outshined Jannine Navarro and Melanie Torres of the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers in straight sets, 21-11, 21-19.
“Hindi po namin ineexpect na ganoon kasi lumalaban lang po kami talaga,” Nieza Viray told Tiebreaker Times. “Basta laban lang po at kailangan paghandaan at pagpursigihan para sa championship.”
With the stepladder semis in place, the CSB Lady Blazers later on eliminated the EAC Lady Generals in straight sets, 21-16, 21-17, to set up a crucial match against Grethcel Soltones and Alyssa Eroa of the defending champion San Sebastian Lady Stags. Their game will be tomorrow morning at 8:00 am and the winner of that match shall take hold of the last Finals ticket.
