MSC: Kairi, ONIC spoil Dlar’s return, eliminates EVOS

PHNOM PENH – Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s ONIC Esports spoiled Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera’s return to the stage by eliminating EVOS Legends in the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup quarterfinals at the Aeon Mall Mean Chey here.

ONIC Esports made a strong statement in the series opener, securing a commanding 7-0 victory in just under 14 minutes, giving them a quick 1-0 advantage over their fellow Indonesian team.

In an attempt to counter ONIC Esports’ exceptional performance, EVOS Legends brought in Filipino EXP lane star Dlar. He last competed in MPL Indonesia Season 10, replacing Rizqi “Saykots” Iskandar for Game 2.

Dlar immediately made an impact, showcasing his expertise with Uranus and providing EVOS Legends the room to gain an early advantage in the second match.

However, ONIC Esports managed to endure the onslaught and secured a 2-0 series lead.

ONIC Esports sealed the series victory by winning Game 3.

ONIC Esports will face off against the reigning MPL Philippines champion, ECHO, in the semifinals tomorrow, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
