Nexplay EVOS whipped Bren Esports, 2-0, to climb to the third spot of the MPL Philippines Season Nine standings on Sunday night.
The team upped its slate to 3-1 with eight points for solo third.
With both teams eyeing the Luminous Lord entering the 14-minute mark of Game One, David “FlapTzy” Canon (Gloo) kicked things off by using his Split, Split on Kenneth “CADENZA” Castro’s Jawhead.
Flap was able to take down CADENZA but fell right away at the hands of a four-man NXPE contingent.
From there, Nexplay EVOS ran over Bren Esports, securing a four-man wipe to take a 1-0 advantage.
Michael “MP the King” Endino’s Roger led the way for NXPE with seven kills against just one death, in the 12-6 Game One win in 14 minutes and 12 seconds.
Looking to turn its fortunes around, Bren Esports fielded Allan “Lusty” Castromayor and Jomari “Jowm” Pingol. However, the change seemed to have backfired with Nexplay EVOS owning Game Two with ease.
Raniel “URESHIII” Logronio’s exp lane Valentina starred in the win, finishing with four kills and nine assists without a single death in the 15-1 Game Two win in 14 minutes and two seconds.
Nexplay EVOS bagged three Cryoturtles and two Lords in the contest while Bren Esports had none.
Bren Esports, who remained winless in four games, fell to 0-4 at the last spot.
Nexplay EVOS will go up against Omega Esports next on Saturday at 8:00 PM. Meanwhile, Bren Esports will take on fellow winless squad Blacklist International earlier that day at 4:00 PM.
