ONIC Philippines continued their rampage, securing their third win in as many matches with a convincing 2-0 sweep of MINANA Evos in Week 2 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Shooting Gallery Studios on Saturday.
The Sonics now sit second in the standings behind league-leading ECHO, having surpassed defending champion AP.Bren, who still has a match today.
After stringing together a series of victories, ONIC is now considered one of the threats for the championship, and head coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin admitted to being fulfilled with the way his wards played in today’s match.
“On cue talaga yung mga calls nila kanina eh. Rinig na rinig namin. Kaya nga medyo may kilig kami sa backstage eh,” he said.
In Game 1, ONIC Philippines surprised with a gold-lane Freya draft that proved effective as Duane âKelraâ Pillas played the hero phenomenally, leading the team to victory with an almost perfect 4-1-3 KDA.
ONIC continued to dominate MINANA in Game 2 by banning out five heroes from roamer Brain âSpiderMilezâ Santos, securing a comfortable win in 15 minutes.
King âK1NGKONGâ Perez (Guinevere) earned the MVP with a 0-2-6 KDA.
ONIC will go for a one-week break before aiming for four straight wins against Blacklist International on April 6.
