MPL PH: Omega drops Blacklist to third straight loss

Smart Omega avenged its first-round defeat at the hands of Blacklist International with an impressive 2-0 sweep in Week 4 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City on Sunday.

They improved to a 4-5 record with 12 points to finish in the sixth spot, inching closer to Blacklist (5-5), which is currently sitting in fifth place with 13 points.

Omega engaged Blacklist in a 37-minute chess match in Game 1, needing to pull off a genius macro play using Duane “Kelra” Pillas (Claude) as the diversion while Nowie “Ryota” Macasa (Lapu-Lapu) attacked Kiel “Oheb” Soriano (Irithel) from the backlines to force a 2-0 pick off, plus secure the lord objective and win the match.

Kelra provided steady presence for Omega as he finished with a flawless 4-0-7 KDA in the lengthy opening match.

Game 2 was a one-sided affair, with rookie jungler Andrew Lew “Andoryuuu” Flora (Baxia) securing all the turtle buffs and two lord objectives to complete the series by the 13th minute.

He finished with a spotless 2-0-4 KDA, while Kelra (Irithel) also contributed to the damage with a 3-0-4 KDA.

Omega’s win relegated Minana Evos (10 points) back to seventh place at the conclusion of Week 4.
