Mighty Sports adds Jett Manuel to the mix


Three generations of Xavier High School greats beef up Mighty Sports in its campaign in Dubai

Former University of the Philippine Fighting Maroon Jett Manuel is set to join TY Tang, Jeron Teng, and head coach Charles Tiu in Mighty Sports’ campaign in the 2017 Dubai International Basketball Tournament. The tournament is set to take place from February 18 to 25 at the Al Ahli Club in Dubai, UAE.

Manuel, who is set to take part in the 2017 PBA Draft, shared the news during the 2017 Collegiate Basketball Awards, Thursday evening.

“My next basketball goal is PBA Draft. Sa D-League, hindi ako nag-commit ngayon. I had offers naman, but I didn’t pursue that muna. I’m gonna see next conference kung anong magandang puntahan,” said the 23-year-old swingman, who was crowned as this year’s Super Senior.

“For now, I’ll play with Mighty muna in Dubai.”

Manuel averaged 15.0 points per game on 40.3 percent shooting and 4.2 rebounds in his final year with UP.

Mighty Sports also tapped the services of Kiefer Ravena, Willie Miller, Marcus Douthit, Justin Brownlee, and Hasheem Thabeet for the tournament that features the best club teams in the Middle East.
