Scottie Thompson, Gerry Peñalosa headline star-studded group behind new Bulacan fitness hub

A star-studded group of sports personalities and business leaders is coming together to build what could soon become one of the premier fitness hubs in Bulacan.

Led by Caesar Wongchuking, boxing legend Gerry Peñalosa, and Scottie Thompson, a modern one-stop fitness facility called The Hustle Fitness Performance Center is set to rise inside AcroCity in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

The project brings together sports icons and entrepreneurs in a shared vision: creating a comprehensive training and wellness hub for Bulakenyos, who previously had to travel elsewhere for high-level fitness facilities.

“Of course, it’s an honor. With AcroCity, Mighty Sports, and Hustle — excellent gyms — talagang star-studded at very big deal. It’s an honor to be part of such a big gym and to be part of an institution,” said Peñalosa, referring to Mighty Sports.

The upcoming facility will be located within the 20-hectare AcroCity complex, envisioned by the Czark Mak Group as a “Live, Work, Play” lifestyle hub. The development already houses the Acro Residences Hotel, restaurants such as Cafe de Margaux and Mt. Fuji, event venue Ang Hardin, the NDW Plaza, and T12 Polo Land.

With the addition of The Hustle Fitness Performance Center, the complex continues to expand its sports and wellness offerings for the province’s growing athletic community.

“The good thing here is the collaboration of the stars. Nandiyan si Scottie Thompson. Siyempre, alam naman natin na ang mga Bulakenyo ay talagang mahilig sa basketball. Yung Makata League nga, isa sa pinakamalaki sa Central Luzon — probably the biggest — and advocacy iyon ni Vice Governor Alexis (Castro),” said Fritz Lacap, one of The Hustle’s owners.

“So sabi namin, ano pa ba ang kulang? Kailangan natin magdagdag ng ibang sport. Kaya naglagay tayo ng boxing. Of course, nandiyan ang two-time world champion na si Peñalosa. Tapos may partnership din tayo with HYROX. So parang kompleto na.”

Wongchuking, together with his sons Angelo and Keith — along with former PBA player TY Tang, who now serves as business development officer of T12 Polo Land — welcomed the fitness center as a major addition to the complex during the recent memorandum of agreement signing in Makati.

“It is with great pride and honor that we will now have one of the country’s popular fitness centers in AcroCity. The Hustle is a welcome addition to our hub,” said Tang.

Beyond the gym itself, AcroCity also offers a 1,000-square-meter sports facility featuring pickleball, badminton, and volleyball courts, along with a spacious jogging area.

For Thompson and Peñalosa, the fitness center is more than just a business venture — it is also a platform to encourage young athletes toward healthier lifestyles.

The center will feature precision-engineered equipment, including state-of-the-art machines from Xtreme Gym, making it one of the most advanced training hubs in the province.

“In return sa blessings na binigay sa atin, ibinabalik natin sa mga bata. Lagi nating iniisip ang future nila. Instead na mapunta sa bisyo, magpuyat, o puro computer, mag-gym na lang sila. At least, malaking tulong na ‘yun,” Peñalosa said.

Also present during the MOA signing were Ariel Ramos, fellow co-owner of The Hustle, and Czark Mak officers Geofrey Gadiana and Joseph Ngo, signaling a strong collaboration behind what aims to become Bulacan’s biggest fitness performance center.
