MDL PH: GameLab still spotless after fifth consecutive sweep

GameLab picked up where they left off and once again delivered a sweep, this time against Bren Euphoria Esports, 2-0, to continue to lord over the standings in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1 on Thursday.

They were made to sweat by Bren though in the opener as the latter almost took Game 1 if not for a botched base turret dive in the 16th-minute courtesy of JM “Aizawa” Fernandez’s (Valentina) triple kill during the crucial defense.

Game Lab had to lean on Dokmen to execute the winning Tyrant’s Rage setup play in the 22nd minute to finally pull ahead, 1-0.

Game 2 was no different as GameLab Masayuki “YukTzy” Fujita (Moskov) scored a double kill during the 14th-minute lord fight to spearhead a 3-0 wipe that helped them secure their fifth straight win.

Meanwhile, ZOL Esports finally notched their maiden season win after coming from behind against RSG Ignite, 2-1, behind the heroics of Lei Archie “lei good kid” who dominated with his Beatrix pick.

The goldlaner tallied 14 kills and 12 assists in total while only conceding a single death in the final two games.

His exploits helped the Ribo-led squad to score a reverse sweep and secure a breakthrough win after losing their first four matches.

In the final series of the day, Nexplay Tiger Cubs survived a tight match against Smart Omega Neos to emerge with a 2-1 victory for their second season win.

It was Omega’s second straight loss after succumbing to Bren Euphoria in the previous match but they remain second in the standings with nine points (3-2).
