GameLab, Echo to dispute first-ever MDL PH title

GameLab and Echo Proud lived up to their top seed tags and hurdled their respective semifinal assignments to arrange a grand finals date on Sunday in the MLBB Development League Philippines Season 1 playoffs.

GameLab’s Masayuki “YukTzy” Fujita and JM “Aizawa” Fernandez split the MVPs and took turns in leading a 2-0 sweep of Blacklist Academy on Saturday.

In Game 1, YukTzy (Karrie) nabbed the MVP honors with a perfect 4-0-6 KDA, highlighted by a double kill in the winding moments as GameLab easily took the opener by the 14th minute.

Aizawa (Yve), for his part, scored a crucial double kill during a lengthy 20th-minute skirmish in Game 2 that sparked a 5-0 wipe as GameLab scored the sweep in one fell swoop.

Meanwhile, Echo engaged Bren in a close opening encounter before flaunting a dominant display in the close-out game to complete a 2-0 sweep.

Echo clutched their way in Game 1, needing 22 minutes and a pinpoint positioning from Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar (Karrie) to emerge on top of a disadvantageous 3-on-5 lord dance on the way to finishing with a monster 9-1-10 KDA and the opening win.

In Game 2, Zaida weaved his way through a 10th-minute midlane team-fight scoring a double kill during Echo’s 4-0 wipe that ended the series in one fell swoop.
