Grace Irebu on pace for back-to-back UAAP MVPs


Grace Irebu is on track to win her second straight UAAP Women’s Basketball Most Valuable Player plum.

The second-year Congolese center of the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigresses accumulated 95.57 Statistical Points coming from her norms of 25.6 points, 14.6 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 1.0 steal per game.

UST is currently at the second spot in the standings with a 5-2 slate.

Mar Prado of Adamson is currently at second with 90.14 SPs after averaging 25.0 points, 11.7 boards, 3.7 steals, and 2.0 assists so far.

Former MVP Jack Animam is at third with 75.57 SPs while Rhena Itesi is situated at fourth with 74.29.

FEU’s Clare Castro completes the top five with 74.29 SPs.

Top rookie Kent Pastrana of La Salle is sixth with 58.86 SPs with norms of 17.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.0 assists.

Completing the top 10 are Adamson’s Kat Araja (54.43 SPs), UE’s Jearzy Ganade (52.14), NU’s Angelica Surada (52), and UE’s Tin Cortizano (49.14).
