Malik sensational in debut, lifts Bren past Omega in MPL PH

Muj “Malik” Malik made his debut as Bren Esports picked up its first win in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight after a dominant 2-0 sweep Omega Esports in Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ return, Friday night.

Replacing team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel in the starting unit, Malik definitely made his presence felt in both games, putting on a phenomenal Alice performance to spoil Duane “Kelra” Pillas’s debut.

“Siyempre kailangan din naming bumawi sa Bren,” said Malik moments after the game. “Alam ko ano, na losing streak kami last week kaya nung unang ‘pag pasok ko siyempre pressure sa akin yun pero alam ko yung teammates ko may tiwala sa akin kaya ginalingan ko na lang talaga. Binigay ko yung best ko basta manalo.”

After a successful siege in Game One that saw them take down all but one of Omega Esports’ inhibitor turrets, Bren Esports retreated to their opponents’ jungle to try and exhaust their resources.

Renz “Renzio” Cadua (Paquito), however, went deep into the jungle and fell prey to Bren Esports which resulted in a five-man wipe that sealed the 1-0 advantage.

David “FlapTzy” Canon was named the Smart 5G MVP with a game-high 10 assists along with a kill and a death in the 13-4 Game One win which ran for 21 minutes and 34 seconds while Malik finished with a clean 2-0-7 stat line.

Bren Esports then wasted no time in dispatching Omega Esports in Game Two, securing a five-man sweep to end the match in just 11 minutes and 34 seconds.

Allan “Lusty” Castromayor’s signature Grock took the Smart 5G MVP with two kills, two deaths, and seven assists in the 16-4 Game Two win.
