The Demolition Man is set to rock the Octagon for Fight Night Manila 2!
Reigning Pacific Xtreme Combat Flyweight champion Jenel Lausa (6-2), who has recently inked a UFC contract, is set to fight Ultimate Fighter China alumnus Yao Zhikui (2-3) in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s second show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday, October 15, according to a report by MMA Fighting.
The 28-year-old Lausa copped the vacant PXC Flyweight crown last January, taking a split decision win against Crisanto Pitpitunge for his fourth straight win.
During his time away from mixed martial arts, the Iloilo-born fighter had two fights in the boxing ring, going 2-0. In his second boxing bout of the year, he was able to take a split decision win against Jon Jon Estrada to win the interim Philippines Boxing Federation super bantamweight championship.
Yao, on the other hand, has lost two of his last three UFC bouts, his sole win coming against Filipino Nolan Ticman during UFC Fight Night Manila: Edgar vs. Faber.
The 25-year-old fighter is best known for his stint in TUF China. He was drafted by UFC veteran Tiequan Zhang for Team Sky Dragon. However, Yao was eliminated in the semifinals of the featherweight tournament, ending on the other end of a decision.
Lausa is scheduled to be the first Filipino on the UFC Fight Night Manila 2: Lamas vs. Penn card.
