A featherweight clash pitting UFC veteran Cole “Magrinho” Miller and Japanese standout Mizuto “Pugnus” Hirota has also been added to the stacked UFC Fight Night Manila 2: Lamas vs. Penn, Tuesday afternoon.
Cole Miller (21-10-1, UFC: 10-8-1) is coming off the worst stretch of his career, having suffered two unanimous decision losses and a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke against Jim Alers. Miller has pocketed five “performance of the night” bonuses – four “submission of the night” wins. The 32-year-old American looks to bounce back against one of the most accomplished Japanese fighters today.
Mizuto Hirota (17-7-2, UFC: 0-2-1) recently made his return to the UFC after a draw against Teruto Ishihara in the finals of the Road to UFC: Japan tournament. After a disappointing 0-2 start in the UFC, the Japanese featherweight picked up three straight wins with his home promotion DEEP. The 35-year-old has won numerous belts in Japan including the DEEP, Sengoku, and Cage Force Lightweight Championships.
