Kelra, K1NGKONG lead ONIC PH’s MPL PH title defense

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Defending champion ONIC PH has retained its world championship-winning roster for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 15, the team announced on Sunday.

Duane “Kelra” Pillas, the reigning MVP of the M6 World Championship, and King “K1NGKONG” Perez, the current MPL PH MVP, will once again spearhead the Sonics as they pursue back-to-back titles this season.

Joining them in the starting five are France “Super Frince” Ramirez, Jan “Kirk” Gutierrez, and Borris “Brusko” Parro.

Meanwhile, Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales is set to make his return to ONIC PH.

A key figure in the team’s runner-up finishes at the MPL PH Season 9 and the M3 World Championship in 2022, Hatred replaces Brian “Spider-Milez” Santos as the team’s sixth man.

He previously played for TNC in the past two seasons, where the team finished eighth both times.

The coaching staff remains unchanged, with head coach Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin and assistant coach Jeniel “Haze” Bata-anon continuing to lead the squad following their championship run at M6.

With their roster now locked in, ONIC PH’s first challenge will be the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Challenge Finals, set to take place from February 10 to 16.
