Execration’s utilization of the broken Faramis-Bane combo in Game One set the tone for its thrilling 3-2 victory over Smart Omega Esports in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven lower bracket playoffs, Friday night.
With the victory, Execration secured a top four finish and set up a date with its good friend Bren Esports for a slot in the lower bracket finale.
Execration shocked the Mobile Legends community in the opener, unleashing the broken duo of Faramis and Bane which went to the hands of Duane “Kelra” Pillas and Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, respectively.
The Jomie “P4kbet” Abalos-coached squad complemented the duo with Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic’s Selena and incorporated them with multiple Arrival spells to initiate the plan.
Both Kelra and Ch4knu wiped out the top lane turrets of Omega en route to the win, taking advantage of Selena’s Abyssal Traps to close in on Omega’s base.
Kelra, despite suffering 17, deaths, was named the SMART MVP while Ch4knu ended up with a kill, 15 deaths, and an assist.
Omega Esports fought back in Game Two, riding Hadjizy’s perfect Hayabusa game to secure the tie via a dominant 15-3 result. Hadjizy finished with an 8-0-3 stat line in Game Two to win the SMART MVP award.
However, Kelra’s Esmeralda overcame a shaky start in Game Three to deliver Execration’s second victory through a tight 15-13 victory. The rookie gold laner, who suffered four deaths in the early game, ended the match with seven kills, four deaths, and two assists en route to the SMART MVP award.
Facing elimination, Hadjizy stepped up for Omega Esports once more with a clean Benedetta outing in Game Four to tie the series at 2-all. He registered an 8-0-4 line to win the SMART MVP award in the equalizer.
However, Kelra went ham in Game Five with five kills and five assists against two deaths as Execration booted Omega out of competition.
