Kelra’s gallant stand not enough as Execration drops to MSC lower bracket

Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ tough stand in Game Three was not enough as EVOS Legends secured the 2-1 reverse sweep over Execration to send the Filipinos down the lower bracket of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup playoffs, Friday evening.

Hafizhan “Clover” Mirzaputra’s Harith spearheaded EVOS Legends tight 20-16 victory over the MPL Philippines grand finalist. He finished with 10 kills and five assists against just two deaths in the match that lasted for 21 minutes and 39 seconds

EVOS Legends contained Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez’s Ling all throughout the match which forced Execration to lean on Kelra’s Claude late in the match. Though Kelra showed his late-game prowess in the match, it was not enough as the MPL Indonesia champion’s Aldous-centered composition won the match.

Joshua “LJ” Darmansyah’s Paquito was all over the map in Game One, putting on an aggressive showing in Game One to contain Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez’s Claude. That alone proved to be enough for Perdyansyah “Ferxiic” Kamaruddin’s Brody to snowball right into the game.

Entering the seven-minute mark, EVOS Legends was already poised to take the match after taking down five turrets – without losing any – and putting up a 4k gold lead cushion.

All of that, however, turned to dust as Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Lunox – who only had four assists across his name at the time – went on a killing spree and willed Execration to a surprising victory in just 12 minutes and nine seconds.

The Execration rookie ended the match with nine kills – all of which came from the last four minutes of the match – along with five assists to win the SMART MVP award in the 16-11 Game One win.

Not wanting to go down without a fight, the first-ever world champions leaned on Maxhill “Antimage” Leonardo’s insane Alice performance in Game Two. The former ONIC PH offlaner finished with nine kills and five assists without a single death to nab the SMART MVP award in Game Two – which lasted for 14 minutes and 40 seconds.
