Kairi, Yeb keep eyes on the prize ahead of third finals vs Blacklist

PHNOM PENH – Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda are focused on the grand prize as they prepare for their third grand finals showdown with Blacklist International this Sunday.

Kairi and Yeb propelled ONIC Esports to the grand finals of the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup by sweeping tournament favorites and reigning world champion ECHO in the semifinals at Aeon Mall Mean Chey here.

This will be the third time that both individuals will face the formidable Filipino squad in the grand finals. In their previous encounters, Kairi and Yeb, during their time with ONIC Philippines, went up against Blacklist International in MPL Philippines Season 8 and the M3 World Championship, but ended up on the losing side on both occasions.

“I don’t want to think about it. I just want to win and make my dream come true to win an international tournament and to continue playing,” said Kairi after their win over ECHO.

Yeb, on the other hand, echoed Kairi’s sentiments and shared that he will only put pressure on himself if he focuses on seeking revenge against Blacklist International.

Instead, Yeb stated that he will encourage his players to enjoy the game and accept whatever the outcome may be.

“Ngayon hindi ko na siya iniisip sa totoo lang eh. Parang nung M4 gusto kong makalaban si Blacklist kasi gusto kong makakuha ng revenge dahil nung M3,” said the former Cignal Ultra coach.

“Pero naisip ko parang pine-pressure ko lang yung sarili ko e so enjoy na lang namin. Kung ano ‘man mangyari basta bibigay namin yung best namin.”
