Young Filipino-American Jackie Buntan continues to dazzle in the ONE Circle as she outclassed Argentinian Daniela Lopez during the lead card of Empower, Friday evening at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
It was an emotional triumph for the 24-year-old Buntan. She dedicated the win to former Lumpinee champion Sangtiennoi, who passed away last May 16.
“I feel fantastic. Really quick, I just want to dedicate this bout to Saengtiennoi. We love you P2,” said Buntan.
And like the “Deadly Kisser”, Buntan’s speed proved too much for Lopez.
Right in the very first round, Buntan stunned Lopez with a huge 1-2 combination followed by a body kick. That led to another three-hit combination which stunned the Argentinian.
Though Buntan was not able to get the finish, she went full throttle in the third round to complete a wipeout decision victory.
“Going into it, I just trusted my coach Bryan Popejoy because he is a wizard on this stuff,” said Buntan.
Buntan raised her prizefighting record to 23-5 while going 3-0 in ONE Championship.
Lopez, who was making her ONE debut, fell to 7-4.
