Is jungler Kelra here to stay? Coach E2max clarifies

Smart Omega has just booked their spot in the playoffs of the Juicy Legends Tournament 2023 Q2, surprisingly with Duane “Kelra” Pillas playing as the jungler for the team.

Kelra, who is known for his superb mechanical skills in the gold lane, displayed impressive mastery of assassin picks as his Lancelot and Hayabusa choices helped Omega score a reverse sweep against Game Lab.

This is not the first time Kelra has played the role of jungler, as he also served in that position during the Just ML Invitational last May, where he even received a game MVP award with the Martis pick against Echos 69.

Kelra’s recent exploits as the team’s jungler have stirred curiosity among fans, leading them to wonder if the MSC 2021 MVP will permanently take on the role.

According to Smart Omega Coach Patrick “E2max” Caidic, Kelra’s role is not yet set in stone but is definitely a possibility heading into MPL Philippines Season 12.

“Gusto lang namin sulitin yung roster lock. Matagal pa naman,” E2max said when asked about the reason for opting to go with different line-ups in the off-season tournaments over the past months.

“Try lang kami ng try [ng iba’t ibang roster].”

Everything will gradually become clearer with the MPL PH Season 12 roster lock set on July 21.
