After looking invincible for much of the season, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers finally dropped a match, stumbling in four sets to the Foton Tornadoes in the second round of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference.
F2 has had a rough spell of matches as of late, being dragged to five-setters wherein they usually find a finishing push. Against Foton, F2 was outplayed from the second set onwards.
F2 Logistics team captain Cha Cruz said that they didn’t lose out on too much in dropping the match.
“Sabi sa amin ni coach (Ramil de Jesus) na mas okay na rin na ngayon ngayon ng mas maaga kasi parang wake-up call sa amin. Siguro dahil wala pa kaming talo, mas naging complacent,” Cruz, who scored 17 points in the loss, admitted.
F2 Logistics heads into the knockout semifinals in the second seed, matched up against the defending AFC champs Petron Tri-Activ Spikers.
“It’s better nga na we lost this early kasi hindi sobrang importante ng match.”
“Unlike the following games na semis – ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-importante,” the 28 year old open hitter.
The Cargo Movers had won nine straight matches before yesterday but their near-perfect season could go for naught if they lose Saturday’s match at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
“We want to bounce back m kasi ayaw naman namin na lahat ng pinaghirapan naman masayang lang if we lose on Saturday,” the team captain closed.
“The team’s very focused on that match.”
