Cha Cruz-Behag is returning to the Premier Volleyball League.
However, Behag, who last played for F2 Logistics, will make her comeback as an assistant coach, set to bolster Petro Gazz’s staff under the leadership of Japanese coach Koji Tsuzurabara.
Behag will make her debut for the Angels in the upcoming Reinforced Conference, which opens on July 16.
Following a long hiatus, the former La Salle star returned to action in the 2023 All-Filipino Conference and played for the Cargo Movers before leaving the team due to pregnancy.
This is Behag’s first stint as a coach after a long, decorated volleyball career that saw her win four UAAP championships with the Lady Spikers and three Philippine Super Liga titles with F2.
The Cruz family has long ties with the Villavicencio-owned Petro Gazz.
Cienne Cruz was a former libero for the Angels, while twin sister Camille is the team manager.
Behag’s arrival is a welcome development for a Petro Gazz side looking to retain its Reinforced Conference crown.
