John Riel Casimero blasted Ghana’s Duke Micah in the third round, racking up a TKO victory in his first defense of the WBO Bantamweight crown, Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.
Dominant was the 31-year-old as he dropped Micah in the second round with a swooping left hook.
Sensing blood, the fighter out of MP Promotions swarmed his opponent with a couple of body shots and two uppercuts for good measure.
Just how one-sided was the bout? Casimero was able to connect on more than half of his power shots in the nine-minute affair.
Wanting more, Casimero not only did push-ups during the end of the bout, but also taunted fellow bantamweight king Naoya Inoue.
“I’m the real monster. Naoya Inoue is scared of me. You’re next. I would have knocked out anyone today.
“If Inoue doesn’t fight me, then I’ll fight Guillermo Rigondeaux, Luis Nery, or any of the top fighters,” Casimero said during the broadcast.
