Carlos Yulo reaffirmed his dominance on the continental stage after capturing a fifth consecutive floor exercise gold medal at the 2026 Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships on Saturday at the Zunyi Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in China.
Making the achievement even more memorable, the reigning Olympic champion shared the podium with his younger brother, Eldrew Yulo, who secured his first-ever medal at the Asian Championships in his senior-level debut.
Carlos did not deliver a flawless routine, but his 8.700 execution score combined with a 6.0 difficulty score was enough to retain the title he first won in Doha in 2022. He finished with a total of 14.700 points.
Eldrew matched his older brother’s 8.700 execution score and paired it with a 5.2 difficulty score, earning 14.300 points. His total was boosted by a 0.1 stick landing bonus, leaving him just 0.400 points behind Carlos.
Japan’s Tsukiyama Shoma finished between the two Filipinos with 14.600 points to claim the silver medal.
The Yulo brothers will have another opportunity to add to their medal haul on the second and final day of the apparatus finals on Sunday. Carlos is set to compete in the parallel bars and horizontal bar finals, while Eldrew will join him in the horizontal bar event.
