Saturday afternoon, Calvin Abueva’s official Instagram account (@calvinabuevaofficial) posted images, screencaps, and a picture of Abueva behind bars with the words “No to violence against women and children”.
Around 9:00 pm, it was revealed that Abueva’s wife Sam had had control over the account. And she went live to tell her side, alleging that her partner for nine years has been beating her and their sons up.
Walang nakakakita.
“Lahat ng teammate niya, asawa ng teammate niya, police, barangay, coach, assistant coach… Alam nila na hindi ako nagsalita. Lawyer niya, pamilya niya, alam. Alam na alam.”
During that time, Abueva went AWOL from the Alaska Aces and Gilas Pilipinas, citing personal problems as the reason.
Many questioned why she was weeping while saying good things about Abueva and their relationship in an episode of Kwentong Gilas that aired back in June of 2016. However, Sam shared that she had been crying because of the “lies” she had to say to change the people’s perception of her husband.
So ginawa ko yun,” she continued.
Sam teared up soon after.
According to her, Abueva also had a live earlier in the day that denied all the stories and screencaps she posted. However, Sam could not release the entire video from the CCTV footage on advise from her lawyer.
Nakakatawa ka Calvin,” expressed Sam, who Calvin met in San Sebastian.
Last month, the PBA suspended Abueva indefinitely after he figured in incidents with Bobby Ray Parks, Jr.’s girlfriend and TNT import Terrence Jones. During the night of his spat with Maika Rivera, Calvin and Sam were together during an Instagram live session to explain what happened.
A month of suspension, Sam – who is carrying their fifth child – claimed that Calvin had then pinned her, causing some bleeding.
“Three weeks bago yung July 8, nag-spotting ako kasi dinaganan niya yung tiyan ko. Meron isang babae na sobrang pasalamat ko na nandiyan siya sa akin ngayon,” she said, though she did not identify the person.
Two weeks na niyang hindi kinakausap yung mga bata,” she said.
Then on July 21, fans caught Abueva playing in an inter-barangay game in Montalban, Rizal. According to him, he needed to play in that game since it was the birthday of one of their sons.
However, Sam shared that Calvin has no longer been in touch with his kids.
“Kahit sino ginagamit niya kaya Calvin magtutuos tayo. Magpakatotoo ka.”
Calvin denied all the accusations, though.
Ito yung IG ko ngayon and not in the old one,” said Calvin, who is now using the account @abuevacalvinthebeast.
Take care ingat lagi. See you soon,” he closed.
