Ray Parks’ girlfriend to file legal complaint against Calvin Abueva

Maika Rivera, the girlfriend of Ray Parks, broke her silence regarding the incident that happened between her and Calvin Abueva, Friday evening.

First off, she clarified that she never called Abueva a “monkey”.

“I want to make thing clear, I did not call him a monkey.

“As you all know, I’ve been dating Ray Parks Jr. for over a year now. He is also a half-Filipino and half-African-American,” her statement opened.

“It would be disrespectful and discriminatory to call anyone that word. I’m in an interracial relationship and I am proud of that,” she explained.

Rivera would then air her side regarding the things that happened leading up to Abueva’s alleged cursing towards her.

And it began with a misunderstanding between Rivera, who was in the stands, and Abueva, who was on the court.

“I was cheering for Ray because he was getting hit and fouled badly. So I was encouraging him saying, ‘Come on sikat! You got this! Kaya mo yan!” she recalled.

This was in line with what Abueva said during his Instagram live video when he said, “Kasi sikat na raw sila, siguro nagpapasikat sa akin.”

After Rivera uttered those words, she claimed that Abueva gave her a stare then pointed to the scoreboard.

She would then explain that she did nothing peculiar as she only cheered for Parks like a normal fan.

With 11 seconds left and Phoenix about to pick up the win, Abueva fouled out of the contest. This is when one of Rivera’s companions, named Jordy, told her, “Uy, na foul out na siya! Mag bye tayo!”

“We then all said bye to him as he walked.”

What came next was Abueva calling her the b-word twice according to her and started making sexual gesture towards her, “in which he masturbated with semen coming out,” she vividly wrote.

According to her account, some of the Fuel Masters followed suit afterward.

With this, Rivera will bring this incident up to the PBA and file a legal complaint against Abueva.

“My friends and I witnessed all of this. I will file a legal complaint to the PBA commissioner and I trust that they will take actions on this matter.

“There are definitely two sides to the story. We are sure that we are saying the real side,” she closed.
