AJ Edu suffers another ACL tear

AJ Edu has suffered another setback to his young career.

The 6-foot-10 big man has confirmed to Tiebreaker Times that he has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) this time on his left knee.

“Just wanted to address the rumors, unfortunately, I did tear my ACL on my other knee,” the 21-year-old said.

It can be recalled that back on June 30, 2019, Edu tore his right ACL during Gilas’ game against Greece in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup.

The injury cost him his sophomore year in University of Toledo.

A year later, he only played in two games for Toledo as he injured his knee in just the Rockets’ second game of the season back on November 20, 2020.

Then in practice just a couple of weeks ago, he suffered another ACL tear.

Edu though is not letting this setback stop him, vowing to come back stronger.

“Obviously disappointed at the time. Still, I’m feeling positive about everything and confident I’ll be back stronger,” he said.

God has a plan for me.”

It takes seven months at the earliest to recover from this type of injury.
