UAAP Media seized the solo lead with a 87-84 win over the National University-backed SM Mall of Asia Arena Team, Wednesday night in the UAAP Season 80 Goodwill Games.
Pro-bound Robbie Herndon produced 45 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and had a couple of assists as the Scribes posted their second win as in many games.
Tiebreaker Times’ Arnold Cagang, the hero of UAAP Media’s 104-102 win over Stats, and Inquirer’s Cedelf Tupas each had 14 points while Spin.ph’s Reuben Terrado nearly had a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Tupas also dished out eight assists on top of three rebounds and a steal.
Spin.ph’s Christian Jacinto, Business Mirror’s Lance Agcaoili, and Inquirer.net’s Bong Lozada also shone for the Scribes.
Manila Bulletin/Tempo’s Jerome Lagunzad, who had 30 points, 10 rebounds and three assists the last time out, was sidelined sprained right ankle but served as the team’s acting coach.
